Where is the time going? I have been so remiss on this blog it's silly but I did want to post some pics from Sami's 2nd birthday party.

Happy (??) Mother's Day

Sami has been sick for the past few weeks with what I first assumed was just allergies (running nose), then a fever, then just days and nights of sheer misery. Finally brought her to doctor who said she has an ear infection. (Oh, you mean I shouldn't be running my infant daughter in circles, way off her schedule, into huge crowds, for days on end??) So for my first Mother's Day we stayed home all day and fed Sami antibiotics and kept a close eye on her. Sami directed her daddy to buy me flowers (2 bunches!! Pink tulips and purple what-nots) and a very mommy appropos bike rack for the car. Thank goodness someone at (tv station) Palladia was looking out for me and scheduled Pink, Paramore, U2 and Foos. Reorganized Sami's playroom. Then Jake made a lovely penne with grilled chicken and vodka sauce dinner. So no overpriced brunch or haul to NYC to visit family (sorry mom!) this year.

All this makes me think of how blessed we are though. To have a sweet as dulce baby that has been very healthy thus far. To have truly wonderful doctors. That we have the means for nice gifts. That there is a tiny playroom I can indulge my creative side and try out decorating whims on. That there is a Sami's daddy who loves me so and is kind and considerate (and can cook!!). So while on the surface it doesn't seem like I had the best day, in the grander scheme of things I can only hope your Mother's Day was at least as good.

Yes, yes....I still have to catch up on Jan-Mar but in the meantime...this is the most up-to-date I've been in awhile so...yesterday Sami took her first Easter/9 mos. old pics. She wasn't in the best of moods but we managed to get a couple of smiles out of her.

Still A long Time Gone (Dec 2009)

When we got back from Cali it was time for a major step forward....Solid Foods!! As you can see, the rice cereal didn't go over very well...but surprisingly everything else has so far...




We had to hit to ground running for Christmas season since everyone else had had a week more than we did to prepare. We were able to go to Longwood Garden's beautiful Christmas display.




Then to go see Santa.


And finally up to NYC to Mita's house (and a subway ride!!) to see Rockerfeller Center and celebrate Baby's First Christmas.
